Smile Auroras 24th and 25th October 2016

Hi all. Just read that a big hole has opened up in the Sun's corona allowing charged particles to blast outward towards Earth. These particles interact with our planet's magnetic field and may result in some fine aurorae in the northern and southern hemispheres. The Moon is mostly out of the way this week, so the timing is excellent! Better if you are more than 40 degrees lat, but anywhere we are, it is worth a look. Probably after 9pm wherever you are in Australia. Cheers.
