Asking $720 (Andrews new $1299)
f/8.1, 1625mm, 200mm
Includes standard accessories: One Vixen style 1.75" dovetail on top, one Losmandy "D" style 3" wide dovetail plate underneath, one 50mm, two 25mm focal extenders, and 2" eyepiece holder.
Also included matched StarShop Bahtinov Mask.
Apart from a little cosmetic dust on the mirror, it's in excellent condition. I've had this from new for nearly 3 years, but am having a break from astrophotography to pursue other interests, such as sleep !
Things I've liked about this scope:
*It is straightforward to collimate using the manufacturer's
manual and some basic tools (I used a basic Cheshire eyepiece and a webcam plus Metaguide for final tweaks on stars).
*Collimation holds for years
*I found the factory standard Crayford focuser fine for imaging when the tension lock knob was tightened firmly (like suggested in the manual). My imaging train was a reducer, CCD camera and filter wheel, or a reducer + DSLR.
*Thermal stability is perfect, no need to refocus all night
*With a decent barlow, you can do satisfying planetary imaging (I used Tal 3x to give approx 5000mm) (selling separately for $70)
*Reasonably priced reducers/flatteners give flexibility for faster and wider-field images (I used x0.6 lightwave reducer/flattener to give 975mm at f/4.9) (selling separately for $90)
In original retail packaging (polystyrene encased and double boxed), or pickup from Brisbane SW.
I also have a Sky-Watcher 80mm/400mm guidescope (with scope rings and ADM vixen clamp fittings to piggyback on to this scope) ($320) and a QHY5L-II colour guidecam/planetary imaging cam available ($230). If you're looking for an OAG, I also have an Brightstar (Orion) Off Axis Guider - Orion Deluxe OAG for $80. Also a Cheshire eyepiece for $40. (Contact if interested for photos - items not advertised separately yet).
