Ionised hydrogen emits at a number of wavelengths but the ones relevant to us are Ha and Hb. Hb is blue and typically at about 1/3 the intensity of Ha. So, from a colour POV it's typical to add some Ha to red and a reduced amount to blue (or add magenta as you did.)
You can also add some Ha to the luminance and even use the Ha as luminance but you need to be careful that you don't end up with salmony pink colours instead of red/magenta if you make the luminance too strong.
