I have one of these early Genesis scopes and I find it excellent for both visual and photographic work. It covers an APS size sensor without need for flatteners.
My library is still in packing boxes so I don't recall the author, but one guy wrote a guide to the Messier objects and also the Caldwell objects observing exclusively through one of these scopes.
I've owned an ED 80 and viewed through ED 100 but they do not compare to the Genesis.
Regardless of hype about new glass and placement of fluorite elements this scope in my opinion is excellent. I will not be parting with mine.
Anyone who buys one will not be disappointed.
