Televue Genesis 100mm fl500mm F/5
This is a very fine example of the original Genesis Petzval design made by Televue. It has been fastidiously cared for by its previous owners and myself and its overall condition is close to brand new. This telescope has provided me with probably the best widefield views I have ever seen in my life. Anyone interested in this telescope will be stunned when using it with either a 31mm Nagler or 21mm Ethos. The ‘original’ Genesis (such as this unit) are quite special as they were the only f5 models made by Televue and their widefield capabilities are quite amazing. All subsequent 100mm Televue Petzvals are f5.4.
This unit has been fitted with a Starlight Instruments Feathertouch focuser (with focuser brake). The original chrome single speed steel focuser is also included. When I took possession of this Genesis it did not come with any case and I purchased an OTA hardcase made by William Optics for its storage (also included).
Please note there are two faults. The first are a number of small paint chips on the actual edge of the dew shield when it comes into direct contact with the metal screw on lens cap. The second is a small chip (approximately 1mm in diameter) in the diagonal mirror. As best as I can discern this has no effect on optical performance and I have tried to photograph it but it is extremely small.
