Firstly I wanted my observing chair a bit higher. Then I thought it would be nice if I could move it around, particularly for comfort during observing. So, it was off to Bunnings again!

This is a modification of a US adjustable height chair. The main problem I encountered was that it had deformed a bit, and rather than try to bend things straight and perhaps break a weld or cause it to stick, I simply 'went with it'.

I got heavy duty 100mm wheels, rated to 140kg each - two braked, two free rolling, and this cost over $80 of the total $123 cost. Trying it in a very low seat position, the back started to lift, so I had this unused 11kg counterweight, that, when fitted, looks like it was designed for it! The chair is held to the frame by two 'U' bolts at the rear and a Eye bolt at the front.

Apart from time, worry time, and the money, all it took was three 90 degree saw cuts and a little bit of chisel work to bed the rear in so that the 'U' bolts would be long enough.

This could give you a few ideas it if you have a flat area for a device such as this to run around on, or you can say 'nah'.
