That is a great start with the asi120. Yes the hot spots are pretty standard with PST especially if you crank up the gama on the camera.

The way to manage the problem is to create a flat field, either manually or artificially. Several cling film wrap layers over the aperture should give you a starting point to create a flat that can be applied in your stacking software.
