A lot of big scopes are pre-aligned in the design process for their building. As they are assembled, alignment is automatic.
I saw a program on a radio dish set-up in South America, (I think), where the scopes were assembled and were moved onto alignment points in the concrete slabs they were mounted on. No further alignment required. I imagine with the bucks thrown at these projects, alignment is a minor issue..
