Making My Own Gimble and Heavy Duty Mounts

Hi All, I was checking out the availability and price on two different mounts that could hold a big lens and the prices of these things are pretty high and one would have to have it posted as well.

So seeing I am pretty handy in the shed I decided that I could build my own.

After a lot of thinking and lots of time spent at the work bench I came up with the Gimble Mount, built with bits and pieces from around the shed, plus a few bits I had to buy, total material cost about $40.00.

The heavy duty lens mount was even cheaper, the steel was $5.00, and it really didn't cost anymore as I had all the bits lying around the shed.

So other than 2 cans of paint at $7.50 each the cost of both mounts was under $65.00.

Admittedly they are not perfect in design, but are very strong and do the job, so what do you think

The cost to buy and have them posted was close to $900.00
Gimble mount $625.00, Heavey Duty Mount $174.00
