I always focus on the planet, can be very difficult at times that's why I shade the scope from the sun so that no sunlight escapes into it. I do everything I can to get some contrast otherwise focusing is impossible.
Probably only 1 or 2 days left unless I get some good seeing and a smallish dark cloud masks the sun and leaves Jupiter in the clear!
