Hi Malcom
Having used Voice Recorder I decided to have a look at Audacity.
At first sight I am very impressed by this program. As you say it is a
complex solution and not for the feint hearted. I found that the instructions, although comprehensive, were rather hard to match to the Audacity screen!
However, I found a good tutorial on the net and I have spent a big part
of today sorting out how I can achieve my objective of recording from the radio and playing it back etc. I will have to set up the MP3 conversion ap at some other time as I got a lost trying to do this. However, a simple free ap download called Freemake Audio Converter solved this problem. I see there is about a 5:1 reduction from WAV and the quality is good enough for my purpose. (A quick sum seemed to show that one hour of WAV recording would occupy about 1/2Gbyte).
Thanks again for the tip.
Cheers Peter
