I'm trying to update my Synscan handset control v3 currently on 3.35 by connecting it to my pc using one of these:

Unfortunately I can't get it to recognise the com port i've selected despite changing it to other numbers, playing with the baud rate etc... Trying to do this on a Windows 10 machine.
From the firmware loader I get the "Can not connect to a Synscan hand control" message when i try to autodetect com number (or even manually select it).
Appreciate any assistance thanks
