I used it for years on my 5DmkII and If I still had a Canon I definitely be using it. Mainly just for the built in intervalometer and bulb timer, but the higher bit rate for video was really useful. Also the crop mode video was excellent for capturing planetary video.
If you use a build that's been around for a bit you should be fine, don't go installing the latest alpha versions
