Hey Dave..
My favourites are the planets at the moment, but i'm getting really sick of waking up at 3:30am to look at them, can't wait till after xmas and I might be able to catch them before I go to bed!
My favourite deepspace stuff is Omega Centauri and 47Tuc for the globs (no surprises there, right?

), but I do love the nebulas too, Tarantula, Eta Carinae and Orion of course, and I also love M8 and M20 when they're up. I really need to get me a UHC filter.
I do love using my 11x70's on a clear dark night, just scanning the milky way, and lately i've been trying to do some Iridium flare spotting..
All of this is good and well, but for 3 weeks straight now Sydney has been under cloud and rain. Tonight is looking like it might almost be clear.. /me crosses fingers!
Tonight I'm going to try and catch a glimpse of Comet Maccholz, thanks to Mick!
