That planetary, Little Gem, would be NGC 6445, According the StarAtlas Pro is Mag 13, pretty bright, pretty small, resolvable. No wonder it didn't look interesting.

EDIT: I will have to stand corrected, there are actually 2 PN in Sgr called Little Gem, Star Atlas Pro only lists NGC 6445 by that name, the other is actually NGC 6818, near Barnards Galaxy, information from Deepsky Astronomy Software. My apologies.

SOME INFO: The new PRO-AM DVD version of STAR AtlasPRO (available soon) lists both of the Little Gem PN in Sgr, and includes more than 550 popular names of other deep sky objects too!
