fwiw) About 10 years ago, I talked to a young lady who was employed in some peripheral way with project echelon.

Basically... the issue is not whether your privacy can be violated, it's a matter of sifting through the mountain of data in order to identify potential 'persons of interest'.

The only way to avoid the eye of Sauron is to live like a Quaker.... but that would also make you a person of interest
