Lovely shot but it suffers from a common DSLR problem of white overexposed stars.

I think if I were doing DSLR imaging I would make it standard practice to take a series of short exposures just for the stars. I would process them separately and make sure they have colour in them then use the Bob Franke narrowband tutorial of how to blend in rgb stars in a narrowband image to layer in the stars layer. That way you get the nice high rez DSLR overall image but preserve star colours which is rare in a DSLR image.
