I use the Meade LX200 in alt/az setup with the electronic Meade #1220 Field Derotator attached to the end of the Meade zero shift micro focuser.

The meade derotator works well as long as you remember to sync the object with autostar hand unit just before starting imaging it seems to keep the derotation speed more accurate, if not synchronized the derotation speed seems to wander a little.

So the image train is: focuser / derotator / meade f6.3 reducer flattener / off axis guider and camera / Sony Nex-5n DSLR

The length of the imaging train prevents imaging close to the zenith.
