Without knowing which mount you have.
With my Orion AZEQ mount, I started thinking that the tracking was a bit ordinary after I had used it for a few months and gotten comfortable with it.
Then I decided I was perhaps being a bit relaxed about alignment so one night I did the full alignment very carefully from start to finish (Including leveling the base with a proper spirit level prior to putting the mount head on instead of the little plastic one built into the head) and making sure the alignment stars were well centered using a high power EP and BOOM, good goto and tracking all night.
