I got my 1.8x Televue barlow today. Ordered it last Friday from
AEC.
Although this is a discontinued product, it is brand new, and looks immaculate. The coatings look excellent, just like on the best TV EPs. It's made in Japan unlike most things Televue these days (maybe the barlows still are). The barrel blackening is immaculate. And performance: we had some exceptional seeing in Melbourne tonight, with stunning steady images of Jupiter and its moons at 300x. The barlow is brilliant! Tried it with all my Pentaxes: the XF and the 2 XWs. All superb. I think I might have a new best barlow!
Good news is this is a clearance item at
AEC and selling for $130. An absolute bargain. Get one if you need a barlow!
