Hoping for a new discovery at Mag 13 is pretty optimistic.
Unless you are aiming almost directly at the SCP, one of the sky surveys (usually Panstarrs or Catalina) is almost certain to pick up anything brighter than Mag 18.
The vast majority of new discoveries is Mag 20 or fainter.
