Markus that is a excellent way of looking of visual astro. Before I got my imaging set up, I was developing my visual skills, and I could definitely notice a improvement. But then I stopped cause of imaging. I think its time to pull out the dob and keep trying to improve, especially at this time of year, since I haven't visually tried the winter sky yet.
