What do you mean by "exposed for"?
"The orange pic was exposed for the surface details while the yellow pic was exposed for the prominence on the W limb. "
I'm only just starting photo-observing the sun with my 500mm fixed f/6.3 lens with ND5 filter. I do get faint surface structure during processing but not much and I'm wondering whether ND3.8 would give me more.
And of course: it would be yummi to catch the prominences if I get lucky.
