No lens and adapter is prime focus. Yes that will work if you have enough back focus. Try it during the day on a distant object.
Moon is a good starting target. Go manual and low ISO, shutter will be pretty fast with the moon so full. Shoot and review, keep adjusting shutter till you're happy with it. 10x Live view is good for getting focus, I find a start best for that, but moon details will work as well. Good luck
