Mars+Saturn 17th May good seeing.

SPX350 F41.3, PGRFlea3, Baader RGB filters.

Another promising night started out as above average settling down into good seeing for 90 mins then mars went wonky and stars were a twinkling. I got a good 5 RGB sets.

The white patch at the bottom of the Mars disc surrounded by cloud is the Argyre impact crater thought to have formed the Elysium volcanoes on the other side of the disc. The Shiapparelli crater is also visible at the right edge.

When seeing deteriorated I slewed to Saturn. Seeing was still wonky then it settled quickly after first RGB set. The Cassini division was easily visible the best so far, also visible in the blue channel.

A GIF for 685IR shows some mottled detail moving at equator and at the top, I had to sharpen quite a bit to see this.

Thanks for looking, John.
