I have to admit i have never had an issue with Aust Post.
Even as recent as yesterday my daughter sent an express article on Wednesday at 10am and i opened it at about 10am this morning.
It was sent from Ballarat to Mortlake a small country town in South West Victoria, now that is prety good i reckon
