Easy, come live near my place. I am all of 45 minutes (On a good day) out of the Melbourne CBD and 5 minutes out of a "Regional" town. Anything much bigger than a letter gets carded.

It was mentioned above seeing couriers stop at the letterbox, dump a "no one home" card and drive off. We don't even get that, they just dump at the local PO and run. They do however deliver to the estate on the far side of town which with only one way in and out will take longer to deliver to than my place does!

My most recent parcel debacle was some car suspension stuff out of Taiwan. First the international courier lost it for three weeks in Hong Kong, then when they found it Aus Post took a week to deliver it the last 50km from Tullamarine.
