First Mercury Transit not visible since 1969 in Aus
I notice the May 9th Transit is not visible in Australia.

It makes me realise what a wonderful streak we have had since I started observing since 1968, as every previous Mercury Transits + the two Venus transits were visible. (OK, we did not see the exit of Venus in 2004).

Overall though, we have really been having a great run with Transits. Anybody know of any reason for this other than just luck?
