Toying with recent some data...as you do when the clouds roll in...and made some heavy local contrast adjustments to this well known subject posted by yours truly recently.
Doing so drove the noise through the roof, but I was surprised to see much more fragmented dust was revealed in the central bulge, plus the hints of the shell structure in the outer halo...so brilliantly revealed by Rolf Olsen
....yet also hinted here in a relatively short exposure.
