Geometry question

Hi all,

I saw something intriguing on the Sun on Saturday, and I'm at a loss on how to describe what I saw. There was a series of filament arcs that were in a line all along side each other, somewhat resembling shark gills. I saw four of these filaments - something I had never seen before.

My question then is, what is the description for a series of 'parallel arcs'? This is the best way I have to describe it.

They are not co-centric as they are all of the same radius. They are 'parallel' as best as I can say.

Anyone can offer a description?

Mental.
