Gum 23

This image is of Gum 23. It is an emission nebula located in the constellation of Vela. A small part of the SNR is located on the lower left hand side of the image.

I think it is a most interesting looking area with lots of dust, what looks like a Herbig-Haro object to the right of the main nebula, the differing types of gas and the luminance within the field.

The image contains 47.5 hours of data with the bulk of it coming from the narrow band data.
