Well done, Justin. Great pic and what an honour.
The last time I photographed the LMC was in 1987 on the very day (or the next day) SN1987A became visible in our skies. I was using gas-hypersensitized Fujichrome 400 film and a Minolta camera piggy-backed on a German-made sidereal clock-drive (you had to wind it up like an old clock!) called a 'Purus Astromekanik'. It wa smy friend Andrew who actually spotted the supernova in the slide. I still have it - an accidental but serendipitous pic for me, if ever there was one. makes me feel some nostalgia for those days of film...
Cheers,
Richard
