As for the data allowance, I now have 500Gbyte a month, and I'm lucky to use 40Gbytes a month. though I might be able to get to 100Gbytes (or 200) if I up the quality on Netflix.

I moved the number to a VOIP service with the ISP (Internode) when the NBN cut over. It has been fine but only gets low usage with often only short calls. I bought a Gigaset C610IP handset which was rated as one of the best on Whirlpool forums for VOIP use. Its like a 1999 Nokia to use but reliable in making and taking calls.
300Gb is normally heaps more than enough for us except when the kids are home on holidays and eat though the lot with Youtube. Add to this some PS4 downloads and we ran out in January. Time to go for a walk.
