hi Mike. the UAH guys seem to be reliable now that they have their analysis routines sorted out. Their main advantage is that their data is timely and almost universally accepted. So far as I can tell, they haven't let their views stand in the way of the data.
I hope that the thread doesn't descend into the pit, but this el Nino is a huge event and must be worth more airtime than the popular media is currently giving it. Maybe we could also throw in the latest NSIDC report "Arctic sea ice was at a satellite-record low for the second month in a row"..
