M33, The Triangulum Galaxy

M33, the Triangulum Galaxy , is a magnificent face-on spiral galaxy.

The little red knots that you see in the galaxies spiral arms are actually gigantic emission nebulae similar to the Orion Nebula in our own galaxy.

These nebulae are star forming regions.

It’s amazing that we can see these from a distance of 3 million light years away!
