Actually Mark, I just saw a doco on the ABC about flies. I changed my mind , I think they are very helpful. People eat the maggots ( heaps of protein ), use them to catch fish, and they use the maggots to eat rotten flesh from people with bad ulcers that don't respond to antibiotics..
