As you know the DSV-3 is fine with an 8" f/5 Newt but wouldn't handle anything larger. I bought mine with the knowledge that if I ever want a larger Newt it'll have to be a Dob.
Arief is right that the DSV-3 is designed for Refractors and Cats assuming you want to use both slow motion controls at the same time for high power tracking. However, I can reach them with one hand while observing or just ignore them completely and move the scope like a Dob. The mount is smoother than a typical cheap Dob mount.
