From what I can tell, crisis averted. When starting the strip down I started by taking the face plate off and... Well I feel like SUCH an IDIOT but I had the RA and DEC motors plugged into the wrong sockets! Plugged them into the correct sockets and took the mount outside with my solar scope. Did a "fake" one star align and it kept the sun in view for ~15 minutes. Better than the minute or so I would have achieved last night.
The motors being incorrect didn't seem the likely culprit considering that it slewed to within a few degrees of Canopus from start up which is normal for me as I am usually about 150 arcmin off PA anyway. It must have just been the perfect star to keep my guessing as to what the problem was. No wonder 2 second subs were blurred, moving at sidereal speed in DEC while the sky moved normally in RA

I guess I won't really know how it is going until I can get outside at night and see how it really performs.

I don't think the belts stretch, but they may be slack- I don't think they could be that slack though

Not the clutches I meant hehe Was referring to the worm drives

Re the clutches, the clutch pads only push on the cylinder in one place so keep that part of the cylinder clean and free of grease.
Download the Rowan Engineering pdf file on the installation and setup process for the belt kit (assuming it is the Rowan one), and go through the alignment and setup to check yours.
Good luck.

When I first put it back together I didn't even know about needing to move the gear blocks (had heavy and noisy binding), quick google search pointed me in the correct direction
