No, there isn't a dedicated PI Forum in Aus though there are many dedicated users here on IIS
The global forum is a good place to post for help from a wider pool of users:

It does take some effort to get started with PI and some people just never bond with it. However, I bet you didn't just pick up Photoshop in half a day either. Any powerful image processing program is going to require time and effort to master.
if you're willing to make your data available there's probably a few folks here and on the PI Forum that would have a go at it.
