As a member of council I encourage you to join ASSA and benefit from the things we offer. During the summer we offer viewing nights in the city limits at several sites. We do have several dark sky sites available too with viewing nights as mentioned a couple of times a month. There is of course the bulletin which provides a whole raft of information.

Most importantly we cater for people of all levels of knowledge and it is our primary function to provide education to the public. There is a course held for beginners with monthly lectures which will give you an understanding of the night sky and the objects contained within the universe.

There is also a meeting once a month which is open to the public, held at the Grant Kerr lecture theatre at Adelaide University. The meeting starts at 8pm on the first Wednesday of the month. This months meeting has a short talk on astronomical anniversaries for the annual elections occur of office bearers. You are most welcome to come along if you wish.
