I noticed .

Simon, I can't wait to hear your thoughts. It may even be okay-ish enough to use if you have kids looking through the scope (I have a simple set for that reason).
But I'm doubtful you'll get much more than what you paid for it .
I had a 2 inch 30mm 80deg ep (I think it was an old Bintel one ?) that I sold on here for only $30, and the price seemed fair at the time.

But, I don't think that e-bay seller was kidding, going by this review on the Cloudy Nights forum .
He seems to be an extremely honest ebay seller- what else does he sell?

I have the Andrews 30mm 80deg 2" UWA mentioned here and it's okay, preferring to keep it and sell the other.

[Apart from those super dodgy "eyepieces" that come with department store telescopes, what is the worst eyepiece that you have ever used or owned?

I had a search of this forum and found that this topic was discussed about 10 months ago, however most of the responses back then were in relation to department store telescope eyepieces. What I'm really interested in is eyepieces that you specifically went out to buy (or use) thinking they will provide some decent performance but ended up being complete duds.

For me the worst eyepiece I have ever owned is the BW-Optik 15mm, advertised under the "Andrews" brand in Australia. It is a 2 inch eyepiece with an 80 degree FOV. I bought it after the much praised 30mm version of this eyepieces that came free with my telescope. Having used both eyepieces, I can say that the 30m BW-Optik is a fair eyepiece for the price and is probably an excellent choice for those with longer focal length telescopes. The 15mm version however, is in my opinion complete optical trash! There are numerous things wrong with this eyepieces, from the top of my head they include:

- Poor build quality. It has a cheap look and feel.
- The outer 50% of the FOV is very poorly corrected and almost totally unusable in a fast telescope.
- The central 50% of the FOV is fair but nothing great, and certainly does not compensate for its terrible outer 50%.
- No defined field stop.
- A very large and fuzzy reflection is brightly visible circling the edge of the FOV. I think it is the reflection of the silver retaining ring.
- Very fuzzy edge.
- Poor eye relief for a 15 mm eyepiece. My eye almost has to touch the lens to see the entire field of view.
- Many Large black particles were found on the outside of the bottom lens which had to be cleaned off.
