No worries Matt.
I have been doing night photography ( birds and animals) for a long time now, and the safety of the creatures is always my top priority. I locate them with a 5 watt
RED LED torch, and usually only take two or three pics and let them be. The
RED light doesn't affect their vision at all. From what I have witnessed they appear to recover very quickly from the flash.I have walked up to within 10 mtrs of a fox using it.
