I appreciate the warning, as a farmer and having many firearms myself.
Also General Chat is mainly for other Astro related themes not covered by the other sub headings but Mike has also said its a general area of discussion for other topics, he doesn't want a Forum full of sub forums for all sorts of specific themes, makes for a very cluttered Forum.
We've had many other discussions that are not related to astro with no complaints, so what's the problem now?
As Hans states, we keep an eye on the discussions and allow a fair bit of latitude, as long as everyone stays civil and respectful, we allow discussion.

Responses such as "Seriously?", "Are you for real?" and "what's the problem now?" sound quite DISrespectful in my opinion.
