Being 'allowed to resign' by the University in itself speaks of their lack of action/concern on the matter. The investigations should have been referred to Police and the Courts, if and when proven, the man should have been sacked.
Who knows how many brilliant researchers have been prompted to leave the field of Astronomy by sexual harassment and subsequent pressure to not report it.
