A Couple of HA Images "Need Help"

Hi Guys,

I purchased a HA Filter to have a go at some H-Alpha imaging with a DSLR like Scott....I didn't purchase the 7nm Bandwith filter like Scotts as I couldn't justify the price so I purchased the 45nm HA Bandwith filter because it is suppose to be better for less sensative chips such as DSLR's...we will see.

Anyway I had a play last night but I dont really know what I am doing...I do remember Scott saying he only used the red channel.????

What I did was seperate the colour channel's in IP and had luminance ticked...this gave me a grey scale image...then I worked on this grey scale image...I dont know if this is correct...have I just turned a color image into Monochrome...I am unsure...any help much appreciated.

I have included what the HA Image looks like in Raw straight from the camera...but higly compressed and reduced for Web posting...bit red...lol

All Images are a stacks of 4 minute unguided images with the ED80 and 350DSLR combo from Brisbane.
