It is unlikely that there is ANY "profession" that doesn't unknowingly employ people of dubious ethics, people who for whatever reason, don't give a s*#t, unfortunately, Aust., Post is one of few "services" that touches almost everyone in the country more than most, so the odds are that on the occasions that things go wrong, there's a greater chance of it becoming more public, providing something else for the serial detractors in our community to jump up and down about.
PLEASE don't get me wrong, I can only imagine the frustration and annoyance of being in a situation like those mentioned in this thread and hope that I'm never in the same situation but the facts are that......:
1) No "system" is perfect.
2) AP processes a seriously ridiculous number of items each day, consequently........
3) There are always going to be instances of "things" falling through the cracks.
4) If there is no obvious common cause for items disappearing, it is probably difficult to find a "blanket" solution.
The postal system could do with a major revue and rethink but while ever it's focus is on dealing with and accommodating the decrease in general mail (letters) and the increase in parcel style items I don't hold much hope of there being a change.
