Back to Imaging - NGC 6559

Its been months since I have posted. I had hardware and software issues and then determined that my processing skills were not up to standard.

Here's the first image set I am pleased with - NGC 6559.

Taken mainly in September 2015 through a PW CDK 12.5. Camera is my new FLI PL 16803. What a clean camera!

Comprises 3 hours Lum and between 1.5 and 3 hours of each of R, G and B. There is more data to be added now that the moon is down so treat this as an interim post.

Imaged from the iTelescope Facility at SSO, near Coonabarabran (iTelescope.Net @ SSO - http://hosting.itelescope.net

I also collected 3 hours of Ha data in mid-September - the second image has the included. The emission nebula is much richer for it but I can't quite get the lovely gold of the background right - if anyone has any tips on how to adjust this in PI, I'd love to hear from you.

All data was processed in PI. I'm pleased with the noise reduction processes - I've finally worked out how to use them in PI at the linear stage.

Higher resolution images - resampled at 50% of original size - can be viewed here:
