This is Fritsy, who is a friends doggie. We all like like each other very much, and Fritsy gets a bit excited when I turn up because it means 'walkies'. Not that she doesn't get enough of these already, but one more can never hurt.
In fact when she hears the word she zooms straight to my car, rather than her owners, cos my car is not as high a jump to get into.
She's old, and a few weeks ago we thought we wouldn't have much more time with her. But happily she has sparked up somewhat lately.
She was so happy the other day after our walk and so when I held out a treat she smiled her delight... and then she took it from me. This is the look of a dog that was tricked into taking a treat that has to actually be chewed rather than wolfed down. The look of confused betrayal says pretty much everything about how she regarded my generosity
