Micro Data - Tarantula

http://www.astrobin.com/212709/

Following on from Alistair's demo of the power of a good light bucket, here's a fun experiment I completed at iTelescope. Used the behemoth T32, a 17 inch diameter, almost 3 metre FL Planewave ODK.

It's not cheap to use, but boy does it seem ultra-efficient in gathering photons. Please see this image, and enjoy looking at the image stats in the astrobin page

It cost me $67 to acquire the data, not that bad I feel, considering the convenience and calibre of equipment involved. As Rick has pointed out to me though, the star shapes aren't perfect, but that takes a fair bit of pixel-peeping to see.

I used my now 'holy trinity' of image processing apps to get the look - PI, Startools and Lightroom. Startools Deconv rocks! Thats coz I suck at PI deconvolve!
