Read noise of 10 or 12 e- is horrible for smallish pixels
Can't they get it at least halfway towards the RN on the Sony sensors which is down in the 3 to 5 region these days? The effect of read noise increases at its square so it gets ugly, especially for narrow band where you're almost certainly read noise limited.
